Congress just announced three new Chief Ministers: Kamal Nath in Madhya Pradesh, Ashok Gehlot in Rajasthan and Bhupesh Baghel in Chhattisgarh. Sachin Pilot was made Deputy Chief Minister in Rajasthan. <br /><br />The three states won by Congress in the latest elections are home to 14% of India’s population. BJP lost these states to Congress on December 11. Over the last 9 months, BJP lost its footing over 1/5th of the country’s voter base, starting with losing Andhra Pradesh when the party’s alliance with TDP fell apart. Before the split, BJP was ruling 21 states — that’s home to 70% of India’s population. Now, the picture is quite different. For the first time since 2014, BJP’s state-level strength is dropping. <br /><br />After winning the General Elections, BJP started landing wins in other parts of the country. Political analysts say the recent elections in the heart of the country are a precursor to what the General Elections will bring.<br /><br />But does this mean that BJP won’t win in 2019?
